Position DescriptionServe as a liaison between insurance and health care providers to ensure the timely coordination, and accurate processing, of patient referrals required for medical specialty visits.
Major/Essential Functions- Ensure complete and accurate registration, including patient demographics and current insurance information.
- Ensure complete and accurate registration, including patient demographics and current insurance information.
- Provide courteous, professional communication with patients, providers, insurers, and community partners to support a seamless referral experience.
- Ensure all referral processes follow organizational policies, insurance requirements, and quality standards, maintaining accurate and complete documentation.
- Identify process gaps, troubleshoot referral barriers, and support improvements that enhance referral efficiency.
- Performs related duties, projects, and tasks as necessary to support the team.
Required Qualifications- Associate degree and One (1) year of experience directly related to the processing of patient referrals;
OR- High school diploma or GED and three (3) years of experience working as a Certified Medical Assistant;
OR- High school diploma or GED plus five (5) years of experience directly related to patient registration, patient scheduling, patient billing/collections, the processing of prior authorizations, and/or the processing of patient referrals.
