Full-time position available with the Health Department, Fountain ID Division and Vital Records Division located at 2400 Troost Ave
Salary Range: $18.61-$29.39/hour
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

Responsibilities
Fountain ID Division Position Summary This position is responsible for municipal administrative duties involving significant interaction with the public. This role requires strict adherence to security protocols and a high level of professionalism when working with community members and stakeholders.
Job Responsibilities - Communicates professionally with customers via phone, email or in person.?
- Answers customer's inquiries via phone, email or in-person.
- Prints, reviews, processes and scans applications.
- Issues Fountain IDs.
- Exports data reporting daily and generates monthly reports monthly.
- Cross-trains with Vital Records.
- Delivers presentations to Community Wellness Ambassadors (CWA).
- Helps coordinate outreach events such as Annual Project Homeless Connect KC and Health on the Block and attends them.
- Performs related duties as required.
Vital Records Division Position Summary This position is responsible for municipal administrative duties involving significant interaction with the public. The role requires strict adherence to security protocols and a high level of professionalism when working with community members, funeral home directors, and state partners.
Job Responsibilities - Performs daily administrative and customer service duties related to the issuance of vital records, including birth and death certificates.
- Responds to public inquiries via phone, online systems, and mail.
- Processes online and mail-in requests for vital records in a timely and accurate manner.
- Issues birth and death certificates to individuals and funeral home directors throughout the State of Missouri.
- Maintains strict compliance with security and confidentiality requirements governing vital records.
- Completes official training provided by the State of Missouri Bureau of Vital Statistics.
- Maintains positive and professional working relationships with funeral home directors and staff from the Vital Records Office in Jefferson City.
- Cross-trains with Fountain ID.
- Delivers presentations to Community Wellness Ambassadors (CWA).
- Completes daily deposit responsibilities in accordance with departmental procedures.
- Helps coordinate outreach events such as Annual Project Homeless Connect KC, Health on the Block and Bank Run.
Qualifications
REQUIRES high school graduation and 3 years of increasingly responsible secretarial and/or clerical experience; OR an equivalent combination of qualifying education and experience.

Positions requiring a high school diploma/GED certificate must be obtained from a school/program accredited by the Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
The minimum education requirement for positions that allow for experience equivalency for an accredited degree is a high school diploma. Unless otherwise specified, an accredited degree must be obtained from a college or university listed with the U.S. Department of Education and recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education.
For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained.
Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history/background check is required for all positions. Some positions require a post offer drug screen and/or physical.
If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
