Position DescriptionThis position is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the clinic patient flow and serving as the primary contact for patients. Responsible for scheduling appointments, preparing necessary paperwork before the patient visits, receiving patients, and maintaining records. In addition, this position is responsible for processing charges for clinic services, filing insurance claims, responding to requests for information from patients and insurance companies and maintaining related information for the department. Employees may have cash-handling responsibilities.
Major/Essential Functions- Answer inbound phone calls while delivering exceptional customer service
- Schedule patient appointments during the call using established protocols
- Conduct outbound calls to schedule appointments from assigned work queues
- Register new patients and update existing patient demographic and insurance information
- Route calls, messages, and clinical questions to the appropriate department or care team
- Document all patient interactions accurately in the EMR
- Manage appointment cancellations, reschedule, and waitlist placement
- Assist with patient portal enrollment and support
- Maintain productivity and quality standards while adhering to HIPAA and organizational policies
Required QualificationsA High School diploma or GED. 1-year Customer Service, office, or related experience. Additional education may substitute for the experience requirement.
