Requirements to Qualify

To qualify for this position, you must have completed 12 semester or 18 quarter units of accounting, including a course in Advanced Accounting, Cost Accounting, Governmental Accounting, Auditing, or Accounting Information Systems in an accredited college or university:

**Experience at the level of Los Angeles County Accounting Technician I is defined as performing paraprofessional accounting work under general supervision in preparing, processing, balancing, and maintaining fiscal records requiring substantive knowledge of governmental and general accounting procedures.

***Accounting clerical experience is performing accounting clerical work to maintain accounting records within a comprehensive established framework of procedures under general supervision.

License

A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.

Physical Class II

Light: This class includes administrative and clerical positions requiring light physical effort that may include occasional light lifting to a 10-pound limit and some bending, stooping, or squatting. Considerable ambulation may be involved.

MULTIPLE-CHOICE AND SIMULATION ASSESSMENTS ARE NOT REVIEWABLE BY CANDIDATES PER CIVIL SERVICE RULE 7.19.

Applicants must meet the Requirements and receive a passing score of 70% or higher on each test part to be placed on the eligible list.

Transfer of Test Components

If you have taken identical components recently for other exams, your responses may be automatically transferred to this examination. This exam contains test components that might be used on future exams, and your responses could be transferred to that exam.

Candidates who passed the assessment are placed on a list in the order of their score group for a period of six (6) months. We will use the list to fill vacancies throughout Los Angeles County as they occur.
