Part Time - Baking and Pastry Instructor
Description
Woodland Community College is actively searching for a diverse pool of highly qualified candidates to fill part-time faculty (Adjunct) teaching positions. These opportunities are available on an ongoing basis to meet the evolving needs of the college. Prospective applicants can expect to be contacted and hired throughout the year in response to the institution’s specific instructional requirements. The adjunct pools remain open year-round and are routinely refreshed every two years to ensure an updated and dynamic group of potential educators.
BASIC FUNCTION : - Develop and deliver instructional lectures for baking courses up to 10 hours/week
- Organize and teach all levels of baking classes
- Use appropriate teaching methods to facilitate student learning;
- Teach day, evening, and/or weekend teaching assignments, which may include distance learning (interactive television, online) and accelerated courses;
- Assess Student Learning Outcomes every semester;
- Participate in department, division, and college-wide initiatives and committees if desired
- Provide timely feedback to students and post grades regularly
- Respond to student communication in a timely manner
Essential Duties Summary
REQUIRED DUTIES :Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students. Required Qualifications
The successful candidate, by the final filing date, must possess the minimum qualifications for instructors:• Any associate degree and six years of full-time occupational experience in the related field
OR• Any bachelor’s degree and two years of full-time occupational experience in the related field
OR• The equivalent
OR• Possess a California Community life credential in the subject matter area.
• Possession of a ServSafe® Food Handler, Manager, and Responsible Alcohol Certification
• Experience working in an environment that focuses on hospitality and customer service
