Description

Description of Duties: Under the direction of the Dean of Student Development, provide comprehensive counseling services in support of the College’s recruitment, retention, and completion efforts. The Counselor provides personal, career and educational counseling to students. Responsibilities include participating in orientation activities, individual and group counseling sessions, classroom presentations, workshops, assessment and placement interpretation, outreach activities, evening assignments, and liaison duties with instructional and student services departments. The assignment includes curriculum development, development and assessment of student learning outcomes, engagement in professional activities, participation in shared governance and committee work, and utilizing intervention strategies to support students experiencing academic, personal, or career-related challenges. In addition, duties include using technologies and systems related to student information systems, case management, and educational planning to support student success, Essential Duties Summary ESSENTIAL DUTIES : Required Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : The successful candidate, by the final filing date, must possess the minimum qualifications at least one of the disciplines below. Please review the Minimum Qualifications Handbook toview the required qualifications to teach a specific discipline. OR the equivalent.( NOTE : A license as a Marriage and Family Therapist ( MFT ) is an alternative qualification for this discipline, pursuant to title 5, section 53410.1.) Desired/Preferred Qualifications Physical Demands Range/Step Class 2, Step 1 - Class 7, Step 10 (New Hires will not be placed higher than step 10). Salary Range $79,984 to $128,369 /YR.
