Part Time - General Business/Office Administration Instructor
Description
Yuba College is actively searching for a diverse pool of highly qualified candidates to fill part-time faculty (Adjunct) teaching positions. These opportunities are available on an ongoing basis to meet the evolving needs of the college. Prospective applicants can expect to be contacted and hired throughout the year in response to the institution’s specific instructional requirements. The adjunct pools remain open year-round and are routinely refreshed every two years to ensure an updated and dynamic group of potential educators.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES : Under the general supervision of the Division Dean, provide instruction in accordance with course descriptions, outlines, class schedules, and Governing Board policies; evaluate progress of students concerning educational matters, develop and assess student learning outcomes, and perform other instructional duties as assigned. Essential Duties Summary
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : - Organize and instruct classes in the Business Division possibly including but not limited to Beginning and Advanced Levels of Keyboarding and Word Processing, Filing, Machine Calculations, Business Mathematics, Business English, Business Communications, General and Advanced Office Procedures, Legal Office Procedures, Medical Office Procedures, and Medical Word Processing
- Provide effective classroom and laboratory instruction using methods and materials appropriate to the subject matter
- Develop and maintain a relevant community college curriculum for office administration
- Promote and model professionalism as an educator and business professional; maintain appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics
- Develop and improve business division programs by working collaboratively with other faculty members and administrators through program reviews and advisory committees
- Promote an educational philosophy that places the primary emphasis on student learning in the design, delivery, and evaluation of learning
- Communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, gender, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students
- Participate in program activities including curriculum and program planning, development, evaluation, and decision-making as well as the development of new teaching-learning methods and materials
- Comply with all institutional policies and procedures
- Facilitate student learning by using appropriate teaching methods
- Work effectively and professionally with colleagues and members of the college community
- Maintain currency and depth of knowledge in assigned area of responsibility
- Be committed to and participate in the shared governance process
REQUIRED DUTIES :
Demonstrated evidence of sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students. Required Qualifications
GENERAL BUSINESS : - Master’s in business, business management, business administration, accountancy, finance, marketing or business education
- OR Bachelor’s in any of the above AND Master’s in economics, personnel management, public administration, or Juris Doctor Degree (J.D.) or Legum Baccalaureus (LL.B.)
- OR Bachelor’s in economics with a business emphasis AND Master’s in personnel management, public administration, or Juris Doctor Degree (J.D.) or Legum Baccalaureus (LL.B.)
- OR the equivalent (Must apply through YCCD’s Equivalency Application Process).
- Equivalency Requirement: All applicants are required to meet the minimum qualifications specified by the Yuba Community College District ( YCCD ) by the application filing date. Alternatively, applicants must have obtained an equivalency determination from the District before the publication of the Recruitment Announcement. This ensures that candidates either meet the standard qualifications or have received official recognition of their equivalent qualifications.
Office Technology or Computer Information Systems: Desired/Preferred Qualifications
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS : - Must have competency in all areas of applied business technology courses normally taught in a community college or in the first two years of a university
- Must be flexible in the acceptance of new and changing teaching assignments.
- Must have the ability not only to adjust teaching skills to meet varying needs of the community and changing student interests but must also have the ability to organize and implement programs to meet these needs.
Physical Demands Range/Step Class I - VII (Based on degree and teaching experience). Salary Range Steps 1: $1,558.22 - Step 10: $2,609.76 per unit. Benefits Information PART - TIME (less than .60 FTE ): Part-time positions less than .60 FTE are not entitled to any District paid fringe benefits.
