In this role, you will maintain inventory accuracy, support internal and external customers, and keep the work environment clean and organized. Daily responsibilities include performing bin counts, resolving discrepancies, processing material issues and returns, and ensuring proper labeling and material separation to prevent mix-ups. You will also assist with housekeeping standards and help team members maintain an orderly workspace.
Customer service is a key part of this position. You will provide assistance at the front counter, pull and verify materials for customers, complete transactions promptly, and prepare materials and projects for delivery. This role requires strong attention to detail, accuracy, and safety, as well as the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills are essential. Experience in inventory control or material handling is preferred, and analytical skills to identify trends and support cost-reduction strategies will be highly valued. Knowledge of supply chain management, electrical utility processes, and lean principles is a plus.

Job Description:Inventory Control Specialist IIIPurpose:This position performs duties associated with warehouse and/or inventory management
Duties, Functions and Responsibilities:Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
- Plans inventory layouts and/or warehouse operations and coordinates activities of workers.
- Ensures accuracy and condition of inventoried assets, items shipped, received, or issued and recommends operational improvements
- Enters, retrieves and/or reviews data recorded in tracking system, creates and analyzes reports and recommends operational improvements.
- Establishes procedures by consulting with workers, managers and suppliers to ensure the procedures are maintained and compliant with overall objectives of the department.
- Manages inventory by performing physical counts, identifying variances and reconciling records.
- Completes purchase requests by verifying inventory and specifications of purchase requests; preparing stock and equipment requisitions, inputting purchase orders, quotes and service requests, expediting deliveries and assisting with invoice processing.
- Ensures maintenance of adequate inventory by researching and resolving discrepancies, recommending actions to manage inventory levels, disbursement and disposition of inventory.
- Manages safety by maintaining compliance with safety guidelines, reporting discrepancies, and recommending corrective action to ensure safety in the warehouse.
- Supports inventory and/or warehouse operations by recommending inventory layout, providing on-the-job training, troubleshooting issues at various phases of the receiving and shipping cycle, and serves as liaison among purchasing, vendors and other staff members to resolve operational issues.

Minimum Qualifications:- Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent plus four (4) years of experience in a warehouse/inventory control atmosphere or material handling, one (1) year of which includes experience in a lead capacity.
- Education may substitute for experience up to the maximum of (2) years.
Licenses and Certifications Required:- Valid Texas Class C Driver’s License, if required for the position.
- If required for the position, legally mandated training must be completed within 1 year of employment.
Preferred Qualifications:- Ability to lead problem solving and troubleshooting efforts, along with identifying and implementing process improvements.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to work independently, set priorities and manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to work well with others including the ability to train and motivate in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
- Ability to be respectful, approachable and team oriented while building strong working relationships and a positive work environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Experience with inventory management/automated inventory systems (e.g. Maximo or similar systems).
- Lead experience in an office / field environment
- Operating warehouse vehicles, equipment, forklifts/PIV (Powered Industrial Vehicles) in extreme weather conditions.
- Acquiring inventory including purchase approvals, managing purchase orders and receiving items into inventory.
- Ability to lift items weighing up to 50lbs or more with or without reasonable accommodation.
