A Field Operations Superintendent position is available with the City of Fort Worth Park & Recreation Department, Golf Division. This technical and administrative position oversees the maintenance operations of Rockwood Park Golf Course, Pecan Valley Golf Course, and Meadowbrook Golf Course. Rockwood Park Golf Course was renovated and reopened in 2017, since reopening it has consistently been listed as one of the top Public Golf Courses in Texas. Meadowbrook Golf Course reopened in the Fall of 2025 after a $13 million renovation. Pecan Valley Golf Course remains one of the most popular golf courses within Fort Worth. The Parks & Recreation Department maintains nearly 300 parks and public spaces citywide as well as provides recreational activities and educational programming that makes Fort Worth a great place to live, work and play.

While the work is technical in nature, there is a strong focus on customer service and accountability. The ideal candidate for this job is not only experienced in municipal golf course maintenance operations but is also an effective communicator with strong leadership and team-building abilities.

Working Conditions and Physical Demand:

Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking and repetitive motions.

Light Work - Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly having to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for the Sedentary Work category and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated Light Work.
