The City is seeking a collaborative, motivated, and forward-thinking professional to serve as its next Director of Public Safety. The ideal candidate will bring a comprehensive understanding of public safety operations, along with strong knowledge of fire suppression and law enforcement principles, investigative methods, rules of evidence, and the equipment, technology, and systems used in modern public safety organizations. Qualified candidates possess the equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in police science, criminal justice, fire science, or a related field, and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in public safety enforcement and service work, including three (3) years as a Commander, Captain or similar management rank within a public safety organization. A master’s degree in business or public administration or a related field is preferred. The annual salary range for the Director of Public Safety is $210,332.65 - $255,661.05; placement within this range is dependent on qualifications and experience.
