A Sr. Administrative Assistant - Collection Specialist job is available with The City of Fort Worth Financial Management Services Department within its Central Revenue Division. This challenging position will be counted on to provide expert, driven solutions to complex problems associated with the billing and collection of vital revenue sources, while providing exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers. In addition, this position will play a key role in supporting the implementation of a unified City-wide Accounts Receivable/Billing and Point of Sale system
Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in accounting, finance, business administration or a related field
- Three (3) or more years of billing, collection and customer service experience
Preferred Qualifications: - Knowledge of federal and state laws related to debt collections and code of ethics in collection practices
- Extensive conflict resolution and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Aptitude for system maintenance and technical data analytics
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel skills
The Sr. Administrative Assistant - Collections Specialist job responsibilities include: - Maintain master ERP customer database by performing various customer maintenance request
- Perform research analysis and resolve complex customer service requests and disputes
- Review and perform various AR activities that will include billing, payment application, refunds, write offs, customer maintenance, etc
- Maintain and monitor aging of accounts and measure the debt recovery of various departments aging portfolio
- Act as a liaison between FMS, Departments, and third-party agencies
- Coordinate and execute collection activities (collection calls, past due correspondence, legal proceedings, etc.) to decrease delinquency rate
- Work with internal Departments to design and implement collection plans and strategies to increase collection of aged receivables and eliminate bad debt expense
- Collaborate with various internal departments and third-party agencies to continually evaluate and implement opportunities to enhance the efficiency of billing and collection related processes and procedures
- Perform administrative duties and manage special projects, as assigned/required
