Reports to : Operations Supervisor, Automotive, Fleet & Equipment Manager

Supervises the following positions : N/A

DEFINITION

Under immediate (Fleet and Equipment Technician I) to general (Fleet and Equipment Technician II) supervision, provides technical support and maintenance to the District’s diverse fleet of vehicles and equipment; installs and repairs vehicle-mounted equipment; operates a variety of hand, power, and shop tools; and performs related work as required.

Minimum Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:

Education: Equivalent to a High School Diploma, supplemented by specialized training in diesel or gasoline-powered mechanics.

Fleet and Equipment Technicians will receive an additional pay of 5% to their current base salary by possessing an ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) Master Certification.
