Risk Analyst

Purpose:

Under general supervision, develop, administer, and implement risk management programs within one or more departments or Citywide.

Join our team as a Risk Analyst! In this important role, you’ll assist in managing and reducing risk across City operations by supporting insurance programs, analyzing data, and collaborating with departments to identify and mitigate potential exposures.

The Risk Analyst will assist with placement and renewal of City insurance coverages, contract reviews for insurance requirements, the Rolling Owner Controlled Insurance Program (ROCIP), and Certificate of Insurance compliance reviews. Frequent and periodic data analysis and reporting is required to ensure visibility of insurance-related activities and to support informed decision-making.

Your responsibilities will also include supporting contract reviews between the City and outside vendors, helping develop and deliver commercial insurance training sessions to department personnel, and assisting in marketing property and casualty insurance coverage to carriers and brokers. You’ll help evaluate insurance proposals and prepare recommendations for cost-effective, comprehensive coverage.

Salary Range:

$ 71,630 (Minimum) - $90,980.00 (Midpoint), depending on qualifications and experience.

Office Location:

One Texas Center, 505 Barton Spring Road, Ste. 600, Austin, Texas 78704

Days and Hours:

Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Hours may vary based on operational needs. Alternative schedules and remote work options are available; however, the position requires at least 40% in-office each week. A flexible hybrid schedule may be offered after successful completion of the probationary period.

Driving Requirement:

If you are selected for this position and meet the Driver Safety Standards in the City of Austin Driver Safety Program, you may drive when necessary to multiple locations as part of your regular job duties. Otherwise, you are responsible for getting to and from these locations.
