The Missouri Department of Mental Health (DMH), Division of Behavioral Health (DBH), seeks an individual to fill the Director of Data Analytics located in their Central Office Located at 1706 E. Elm Street, Jefferson City, MO 65102.

The Division of Behavioral Health’s Director of Data Analytics supervises a team of Data Analysts who provide ongoing data and analytical support to the wide variety of treatment programs, grants, and administrative teams managed by the DBH. This position prioritizes and assigns tasks related to the data needs of the Division as well as represents the DBH on a variety of department-wide initiatives and projects. This involves presenting to and/or otherwise collaborating with the Mental Health Commission; DMH and DBH executives; Missouri Behavioral Health Council; DMH facility leadership; DMH ITSD staff; DMH contracted community provider staff; MO HealthNet staff; other state departments, and other stakeholders, often on an ad hoc basis. Some direct report writing is expected although most statistical and informational reports are authored by other data analytics staff. The position provides direction and feedback as required while interfacing with the internal and external customers of the data analytics team. Travel is minimal but occasionally required by the position.
Required Qualifications: - Experience using a Microsoft Windows Operating System and PC-based statistical reporting software
- Proficiency with:
- Writing SQL queries against a large and complex databases to collect and analyze information related to billing and client services
- Interpreting data into meaningful reports for management decision making
- Developing improved procedures and controls
- Compiling finished reports
- Utilizing Tableau or other software to manage dashboards
- Participating in Operational Excellence initiatives
- Experience in presenting technical information to diverse audiences.
- Supervisory experience.
Qualifications:A Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in one or a combination of the following: Business or Public Administration, Economics, Finance, Operations Research, Physical Science, Psychology, Social Work, or a closely related field, to include successful completion of graduate level statistical coursework; and two or more years of professional experience in a supervisory capacity. Years of experience in the field may substitute for stated educational requirements.
Applicants with experience working with State of Missouri Medicaid data through MO HealthNet or Experience within Behavioral Health are preferred.
Salary up to $111,912 annually, commensurate with experience and education.
