Description
The Department of Social Services is seeking candidates to fill a Program Specialist position within the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) within the Community Initiatives Unit (CIU). This position is located in Cole County and based at 3705 Missouri Blvd, Jefferson City, MO.
A moderate amount of statewide travel is required. Duties include, but are not limited to: - Research, review, and analyze LIHEAP federal and state legislation for its intent, meaning, and effects
- Assist in planning for program development
- Develop and design new policies and procedures and modify existing program policy and procedures
- Assist with technical development and training of the data systems
- Participate in conferences, training sessions, and meetings related to these programs
- Review program reports and complete system updates to support agencies processing
- Provide direct customer contact.
Two or more years of experience in a professional or technical job classification with the Missouri Uniform Classification and Pay System in the Missouri Department of Social Services; and possession of a high school diploma or proof of high school equivalency.
OR A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university;
and , Four or more years of professional or technical experience providing social services; or conducting investigations or audits of social service providers, recipients, and/or applicants.
(24 earned graduate credit hours from an accredited college or university in social or behavioral sciences, Public or Business Administration, or a closely related field may substitute for one year of the stated experience.)
(A Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in social or behavioral sciences, Public or Business Administration, or a closely related field may substitute for two years of the stated experience.)
(Additional qualifying experience may substitute year-for-year for deficiencies in the required education .)
