Administrator Level (for MPP positions only) This position is an MPP III in the California State University Management Personnel Plan (MPP), reporting to the Senior Associate Vice President of Enrollment Management.

Anticipated Hiring Range $12,084.00 - $12,917,000.00 Per Month ($145,008.00 - $155,004.00 Annually)

Position Summary Reporting to the Senior Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management, the University Registrar provides leadership, direction, and management of all functions related to student registration, records, and graduation services. The Registrar is the custodian of SF State's academic records, ensuring their integrity, security, accuracy, and compliance with federal, state, CSU, and campus policies. This position plays a central role in academic policy enforcement, student information systems, and service delivery that supports student success, retention, and timely graduation.
The Registrar oversees the planning, organization, and administration of registration, grading, transcripts, degree audit, academic policy implementation, and graduation certification. This role is also responsible for budget oversight, staff management, and operational excellence within the Registrar's Office.
Position Information Registration, Graduation, and Records Management - Direct all functions related to course registration, grading, transcripts, diplomas, and degree audits.
- Ensure timely and accurate evaluation of student records for graduation eligibility.
- Develop and implement innovative approaches to improve registration and graduation processes, enhancing efficiency and the student experience.
- Provide leadership in long- and short-term planning for student records, enrollment services, and graduation outcomes.
- Maintain compliance with CSU reporting standards and ensure accuracy of student records in Campus Solutions.
Academic Policy Enforcement & Compliance - Ensure compliance with academic policies, FERPA, CSU Chancellor's Office directives, state and federal regulations.
- Collaborate with Academic Affairs, Student Affairs & Enrollment Management (SAEM), Administration & Finance, and other units to implement academic policies effectively.
- Serve as the campus authority and official custodian of student education records, responding to inquiries regarding policy, privacy, and records integrity.
- Provide leadership on the Campus Solutions Student Records and Academic Advisement modules.
Registrar's Office Operations/Staffing/Budget - Recruit, supervise, and develop Registrar's Office staff, fostering a supportive and professional work environment
- Ensure
- position descriptions and staff responsibilities are updated to reflect current operations.
- Oversee staff attendance, scheduling, and student-centered service delivery.
- Manage office budget, conduct annual budget development and mid-year reviews, and ensure funds are used efficiently within the SAEM budget model.
- Submit funding requests consistent with university and divisional procedures.

Service Excellence & Student Experience - Provide responsive, equitable, and high-quality service to students, faculty, staff, and external stakeholders.
- Promote continuous improvement in service delivery, with a focus on technology-enabled solutions, student satisfaction, and operational efficiency.
- Ensure consistent, accessible information about Registrar services across digital and in-person platforms.
- Represent the Registrar's Office at university events and be available as needed during evenings/weekends.
Leadership &University Engagement - Serve on campus-wide committees related to student records, academic policy, and enrollment processes.
- Collaborate with ITS and campus partners to improve student systems, reporting tools, and data integration.
- Promote SF State's mission of diversity, equity, and inclusion through policies, practices, and services.

Preferred Qualifications - Experience managing technology-based operations in higher education, including PeopleSoft/Campus Solutions.
- Knowledge of best practices in records management, registration, and student success within a strategic enrollment management framework.
- Strong background in data analysis, reporting, and systems optimization.
- Experience collaborating across cabinet-level units to implement academic and enrollment policies.
