Major Duties

PLEASE NOTE: The position will be filled at either the Student Services Professional SSP IA , SSP IB, or SSP II level, dependent upon the applicant's qualifications:

SSP IA: Under the direct supervision of the Assistant Registrar for Undergraduate Degree Services, the Graduation Advisor Trainee supports students in completing their degree requirements and progressing toward graduation. The trainee will be trained to perform degree audits, evaluate academic records, and ensure compliance with CSUN and CSU graduation policies.

SSP IB: Under the general supervision of the Assistant Registrar of Undergraduate Degree Services, the Graduation Advisor is responsible for advising students on progression toward degree completion, evaluating and conferring baccalaureate degrees, reviewing course substitutions and waivers, and performing related academic record analysis to ensure compliance with institutional and CSU policies and procedures.

SSP II : Under the general supervision of the Assistant Registrar of Undergraduate Degree Services, the Graduation Advisor independently advises students, evaluates and confers degrees, reviews course substitutions and waivers, and ensures compliance with institutional and CSU policies. This role requires detailed record analysis, policy interpretation, and collaboration with academic departments to support timely student graduation.
