Job Description:Purpose: Under general supervision, this position provides coordination of work, leadership, and guidance to staff who provide housekeeping, security, and facilities services throughout Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS) and the AUS campus.
Duties, Functions and Responsibilities: Essential duties and functions, pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned.
- Coordinates, leads, and assists staff conducting facility maintenance, security, emergency services, cleaning, and moving and arranging services.
- Acts as supervisor in absence of shift supervisor.
- Interacts with airport tenants, passengers, and other City of Austin departments on the behalf of the division.
- Develops and revises draft standard operating procedures for the division and implements once approved.
- Provides customer service by answering questions and providing information to all customers navigating and transitioning through the airport. Performs administrative duties and responsibilities including completing and approving forms, logs, timesheets, and leave requests.
- Stocks, orders, and replenishes supplies campus-wide; inspects and maintains equipment, vehicles and areas of the airport campus for needed repairs, maintenance, and cleanliness.
- Communicates and coordinates work with divisional supervisors regarding events operational matters, resolves conflicts and difficult situations, evaluates personnel performance, and resolves other issues.
- Observes and enforces department and facility safety and operational policies and procedures.
- Works in conjunction with airport personnel and assigned staff to coordinate and ensure security and safety for airport facilities; coordinates evacuations and isolations of airport facilities when emergencies arise, e.g., security breaches, weather or fire emergencies, baggage handling system outages, etc.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent, plus three (3) years of experience related to janitorial services, including two (2) years of experience which were in the operation of janitorial heavy equipment and/or machinery.
Licenses and Certifications Required:Valid Texas Class C Driver License within ninety (90) days of hire.

Salary Range:$25.22 - $29.70
Driver’s Requirement:This position must travel between various locations as part of the regular job duties and the individual will be required to drive a city vehicle. Position will also be required to drive on the AOA.
This position requires a Valid Texas Class C Driver License or the ability to acquire one by your hire date. External New Hires must meet the City of Austin’s Driver Record Evaluation (DRE) requisite. To be considered for a driving position, applicants cannot have more than three moving violations or a total of six Driver Record Evaluation points within a period of thirty-six (36) months. Job Offer is contingent on having a driving record that meets the City’s Driver Record Evaluation Standards.
Essential Personnel: This position is categorized as essential personnel. Essential personnel are required to come to work during emergencies or bad weather at the airport if they are scheduled to work and, in some cases, when they are not scheduled.

Hours may change according to departmental needs; work hours may include after hours, holidays, and weekend work.
Core schedule and hours will be provided at the time of job offer.Shift Incentive: Shift work includes shift differential incentive for evening and night shifts and weekends
