DescriptionSALARY: $33.51 - $40.73 / Hour
OPENING DATE: 10/15/25
CLOSING DATE: 10/29/25 at 1 PM Pacific Time
THE POSITION: Under general supervision, performs entrance-level professional civil engineering work in connection with surveying, designing, construction, and maintenance of Public Works projects and surface water and groundwater projects. Performs other work as required.
Representative DutiesThe following typical tasks and responsibilities are representative of this class. They are descriptive, not limiting.
Essential Duties: Prepares property descriptions and drafts plats for annexations, public way openings and closing; Prepares descriptions both written and graphic for property to be deeded to the City; Drafts plans for public improvement districts; Prepares estimates; Calculates individual assessments; Performs research work in checking and verifying names establishing ownerships, assessed valuation and similar projects; Develops original base maps from recorded tract maps and field survey notes, data, and field survey information.

Minimum QualificationsApplications will be accepted

- Graduation from an accredited high school or G.E.D. equivalent, AND
- Four (4) years of experience performing sub-professional engineering or field survey work in a civil engineering environment including two (2) years of computer aided drafting experience, OR
- Two (2) years of college in an Engineering related field AND
- Two (2) years of experience as an Engineering Aide II or Computer Drafting Technician
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field may be substituted for the required experience
- Valid California Class "C" driver's license
Examination (Weighted: 100%) ORAL APPRAISAL INTERVIEW (Weighted 100%): November 13, 2025 (Tentative) An appraisal will be made of the applicant's experience, education, training, certification, knowledge, skills, abilities, and personal qualifications for the position. A minimum passing score of 70% is required.

Salary:
$69,702.88 - $84,724.64 Annually
