The Position

Self Sufficiency in Health and Human Services is looking for Senior Employment Services Worker to work with a diverse population and empower individuals to achieve career success. In this role, the incumbent will play a crucial part in assisting individuals from diverse backgrounds to achieve self-sufficiency through employment and training opportunities. The incumbent will provide comprehensive case management, conduct assessments, develop individualized employment plans, and connect clients with valuable community resources. The incumbent will engage in employer outreach to secure employment opportunities for participants

The Senior Employment Services Worker will perform the most complex and specialized assignments requiring an advanced level of technical knowledge in employability services and public assistance programs. The Senior Employment Services Worker may perform lead work such as providing training to the unit, performing case reviews, and interpreting and reviewing policies, procedures, and state and federal regulations to assist staff in understanding and executing program requirements. The incumbent will serve as a resource for staff, providing answers to programmatic questions. Spanish ability is preferred but not required

There is currently 1 (one) regular full-time vacancy. The list established by this recruitment may be used to fill future full-time, part-time, limited term, and extra help vacancies up to one year.

Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Agreed Salary increases and Wintertime Off:
3.5% COLA increase effective 7/1/202632.0 hour of Winter Time-Off

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Experience and Education:
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skills, and abilities would be:
Option I

Experience:

At least 2 year of experience providing employment counseling or social work services.


AND



Education:


Completion of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in the behavioral sciences such as psychology, social work, sociology, counseling or a related field.

OR


Option II


Experience:

At least 3 years of experience providing employment counseling or social work services.

AND

Education:

Completion of 60 semester units or 90 quarter units at an accredited college including at least 18 semester or 24 quarter units in sociology, psychology, counseling, social work, or other related fields (additional years of experience can substitute for education on a year-for-year basis)

License or Certificate: *

Possession of a valid California driver's license.

*Any license, certification, or registration required for this position shall be maintained (i.e. active and in good standing) at all times during employment with Napa County. For continued employment with Napa County, you must maintain such license, certification, or registration to meet the minimum qualifications of this position.

Special Requirement:

Designated positions may require the ability to speak, read and write in a language other than English.

THE RECRUITMENT PROCESS

2. Subject Matter Experts will review responses from supplemental questions on a continuous basis. The most qualified candidates from the scoring of supplemental questions will be invited to an Oral Panel Interview.

3. Oral Panel Interviews will be scheduled on a continuous basis by the hiring department. The most qualified candidates from Oral Panel Interviews will be placed on the eligibility list and referred to the hiring manager for further consideration.

PUBLIC SERVICES EMPLOYEES BENEFITS INFORMATION

SALARY -
Salaries are based on a five-step range. Appointments are usually made at the beginning step with advances occurring at six months and the completion of each year thereafter. Salary rates are reviewed annually.
