Join our team at LAWA as an Equipment Specialist I! In this dynamic position, you'll be part of the Fleet Maintenance and Asset Management team, where you will assist with procurement of vehicles and equipment. Engage with stakeholders and end users on their vehicle and equipment needs, manage vendors relationships and monitor contractual obligations. This assignment requires a high-degree of attention to detail, organizational and writing skills. To be considered please review the following below:

- 4 years of full-time paid experience with the City of Los Angeles as an Equipment Mechanic or in a class at that level which provides experience in the maintenance and repair of transportation, construction, fire, or park maintenance equipment OR

- 4 years of full-time paid experience with the City of Los Angeles in a class at the level of Management Analyst which provides experience in the analysis of equipment repair activities or in the analysis of either the operation or maintenance and repair of transportation, construction, fire, or park maintenance equipment OR

- 6 years of full-time paid experience in the maintenance and repair of transportation, construction, fire, or park maintenance equipment, or in the analysis of either the operation or maintenance and repair of transportation, construction, fire, or park maintenance equipment.

Emergency Appointment

An emergency appointment is not a regular appointment. It is a temporary appointment which does not require that you successfully compete in the Civil Service examination process. The appointment may not exceed one year and must be terminated immediately when a regular appointment can be made from an eligible list. No emergency appointment can exceed one year. (City Charter Section 1013).
