A Sr. Administrative Services Manager job is available with the City of Fort Worth's Public Events Department / Fiscal & Administration Division. This position is responsible for managing the highly complex fiscal and administrative functions of the department. In addition, the position tracks and analyzes revenue collections associated with the Venue taxes, Hotel Occupancy taxes, Public Financing Zone and DFW Revenue Sharing. This position is responsible for leading a team which provides daily business support for both the Convention Center and Will Rogers Memorial Complex.
The Public Events Department operates the Fort Worth Convention Center (FWCC) and the Will Rogers Memorial Center (WRMC). The department operates with 138 full-time positions.
The Public Events Department is seeking to hire a qualified individual to fill the Sr. Administrative Services Manager position. The position reports to the Assistant Director over Finance & Administration and supervises no more than five (3-5) administrative and financial staff. The department has a combined annual operating budget of $132 million across six funds. Plus 5 capital funds, totaling over $500 million under management.
Minimum Qualifications: - Master's Degree from an accredited college or university with course work in Business Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, Human Resources or related field.
- Four (4) years of increasingly responsible and complex administrative, fiscal, personnel and management experience.
- Two (2) years in a supervisory capacity.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid Texas driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience in the development and administration of multi-year capital improvement programming, delivery and budget
- Supervisory experience and demonstrated success managing teams to achieve high levels of production, meet tight deadlines, and deliver compliant, quality work products.
- Understanding of fund and governmental accounting and have a working knowledge of PeopleSoft Financials, PeopleSoft Human Capital and Hyperion.
- Advanced experience using:

- MS Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Ungerboeck (EBMS) or other event management software.
- M&C Wizard or other dashboard/collaboration software.
- Municipal government experience in a professional capacity.
- Background in Venue management, publicly or privately owned and operated.
The Sr. Administrative Services Manager job responsibilities include: - Supervises staff, which includes prioritizing and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; ensuring staff is trained; ensuring employees follow policies and procedures; maintaining a healthy and safe working environment; and, making hiring, termination, and disciplinary decisions or recommendations.
- Oversees and participates in the development, analysis, formulation and administration of the department's budget; reviews and provides guidance relative to the forecast of funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials and supplies; reviews expenditures and provides guidance and direction regarding budgetary adjustments necessitated throughout budget execution.
- Administers assigned contracts; negotiates and prepares complex requests for proposals or contracts with external professional service providers and vendors; monitors work progress and ensures adherence to project schedules and budgets.
- Participates in special projects including research of new programs and services, budget analysis and preparation; prepares and presents reports detailing findings and recommendations.
- Continuously monitors and evaluates the quality, responsiveness, efficiency and effectiveness of fiscal accountability, service delivery methods and procedures; works with staff on the continuous improvement of department specific services.
- Directs, oversees, and reviews the work plan for assigned programs, services and activities; assigns work activities and projects; monitors work flow; reviews and evaluates work products, methods and procedures; meets with employees to identify and resolve problems.
- Identifies opportunities for improving service delivery methods and procedures; identifies resource needs; implements improvements.
- Provides complex staff guidance to the department's senior management team; participates on a variety of committees; prepares and presents staff reports and other correspondence as appropriate and necessary.
