The County of Sonoma, California, is seeking a visionary, mission-driven Director of Child Support Services to lead a high-performing department, ranked seventh in California for overall performance in Fiscal Year 2024, achieving the second highest rate in Support Order Establishment (94.5%) and the highest rate of Stipulated Orders (57.8%). This department is dedicated to serving the needs of children and promoting family self-sufficiency by way of developing and leading the team to achieve continuous improvement and effectiveness. Appointed by the Board of Supervisors who delegates oversight to the County Executive, the Director will oversee all operations of the County’s Child Support Services programs, including enforcement, financial support services, advocacy, community outreach, team development, systems improvements, and administration of an approximately $12 million annual budget. They will lead a total staff of 59 through an executive management team of seven, and will prioritize strong culture building and effective change management. Beyond traditional enforcement, the Director will drive efforts to expand voluntary program enrollment through community outreach, organizational and departmental partnerships, and a holistic approach to family support and child wellbeing.
