ABOUT THE POSITION

The Clark County - Las Vegas Justice Court is seeking qualifies candidates to apply for the Court Security Administrator position. The position will serve as the Emergency Manager over all emergency situations at the Las Vegas Justice Court inside Regional Justice Center (RJC). The ideal candidate governs the activities and operations of Justice Court Administration staff responsible for the security, safety, and enforcement services of the Courts to ensure the security of the public and personnel.

This examination will establish an Open Competitive Eligibility list to fill current and/or future vacancies that may occur within the next six (6) months or may be extended as needed by Human Resources.

PLEASE NOTE: Nevada Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) Certification: A valid copy of a Peace Officer Standards and Training (P.O.S.T.) MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience: Equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree in Law Enforcement, Business or Public Administration, or a field related to the work, and three (3) years of full-time administrative experience in law enforcement, including two (2) years of supervisory responsibility. Directly related experience that has provided the necessary skills and knowledge to perform all job functions may be substituted for the degree on a year-for-year basis.

All qualifying education and each experience must be clearly documented in the "Education" and "Work Experience" sections of the application. Working Conditions:
Carry a firearm.
Wear a uniform as specified.
Attend meetings outside of normal working hours.
May work extended shifts or be called back in emergency situations.

License and Certification: Must qualify with a firearm every six months. Must possess a valid Nevada Class C driver's license at time of appointment. Must possess a Nevada P.O.S.T. certificate, Category II, or higher. Possess or obtain CPR and first-aid certification within one year of the date of appointment.

Background Investigation: Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation. Periodically after employment background investigations may be conducted.

Citizenship: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Please note, Clark County does not provide H1B visa sponsorships or transfers for any employment positions.

Medical Examination: Employment is contingent upon the results of a physical examination performed by our examining physician.

Pre-Employment Drug Testing: Employment is contingent upon the results of a pre-employment drug examination.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Maintain physical condition to perform essential duties as specified by P.O.S.T. certification; strength to effectively subdue and/or remove persons in difficult or emergency situations and perform life-saving and rescue procedures. Mobility to work in a typical office setting, use standard office equipment, and to drive a motor vehicle in order to visit work sites and attend meetings; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the telephone.
