Description
Position SummaryAs an academic medical center with a rich history of providing life-saving treatment in Southern Nevada, UMC serves as the anchor hospital of the Las Vegas Medical District, offering Nevada’s highest level of care to promote successful medical outcomes for patients.
We are home to Nevada's ONLY Level I Trauma Center, Designated Pediatric Trauma Center, Burn Care Center, and Transplant Center. We are a Pathway Designated facility by ANCC, and we are on our journey to Magnet status. Position Summary:Responsible for supporting all aspects of the hospital’s Corporate Compliance Program. Ensures that hospital operations align with applicable federal and state laws, including but not limited to Medicare and Medicaid regulations, False Claims Act, Anti-Kickback Statute, and industry best practices. Fosters a culture of compliance by developing and delivering targeted education and training, responding to compliance inquiries, and conducting investigations of suspected or confirmed non-compliance.
Job RequirementEducation/Experience:Equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree in healthcare or business administration or similar field and two (2) years of professional level experience in healthcare compliance, coding, auditing, or performing administrative, operational or similar analyses and studies.
Licensing/Certification Requirements:Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC). CHC certification can be obtained within 18 months of hire or transfer into the department.
Additional and/or Preferred Position Requirements PREFERENCES WILL BE GIVEN TO APPLICANTS WHO DOCUMENT THE FOLLOWING: - Previous healthcare compliance, healthcare clinical, healthcare coding, healthcare billing, healthcare auditing, or legal experience with any of the following:
- Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC)
- Certified Professional Compliance Officer (CPCO)
- Certified Fraud Examiners (CFEs)
- Certified Professional Medical Auditor (CPMA)
- Certified Healthcare Auditor (CHASM)
- Licensed Healthcare Auditor (LHA)
- Certified Healthcare Internal Audit Professional (CHIAP)
- Certified Coding Specialist-Physician-Based (CCS-P)
- Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)
