Description

Job Location: This position will be domiciled in the Kansas City area.

General Summary:

The Chief of Adult Community Operations will have a focus on contracted community providers of Adult

Behavioral Health services to include, Substance Use Disorder treatment, Recovery Support Services and

Psychiatric services in the Northwest Region of Missouri. The position will work with local

organizations, providers, and stakeholders to further the mission, vision and values of the Department of Mental Health.

This is a managerial position. At this level, employees are responsible for coordinating multiple resources, scheduling and prioritizing work, evaluating and presenting findings to leadership, and supervising employees. Employee supervision includes hire recommendations, training, planning and assigning work, performance assessment, coaching, and progressive discipline. Supervision at this level

also requires employees to have the knowledge and skills to perform and review the work overseen.

Responsibilities:



Required skills:

Knowledge and understanding of CSR’s (Code of State Regulations), Department Operating Regulations,

Medicaid Standards, DBH Policy and Procedures, Psychiatric Services Catalog, and Certification

Standards for the State. Ability to establish excellent working relationships both internal to DBH and with

external providers. Must have ability to problem solve and work independently. Skill in engaging in

productive dialogue and providing challenging information. Ability to develop short and long-range plans

that meet established objectives.

Eligibility:

Bachelor’s degree and 5 or more years of relevant experience

Salary up to $95,000 annually, commensurate with education and experience.
