Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) has one available Senior Mechanical Repairer position in the Mechanical Repair Shop. This position is responsible for supervising and performing maintenance and repairs on a variety of mechanical systems, including security equipment, emergency generators, automatic doors, conveyor systems, pumps, and compactors. The role also supports the Airport Maintenance Supervisor III with planning, scheduling, and inspections, and serves as acting supervisor when needed. Additional responsibilities include managing maintenance records in Maximo, coordinating work schedules, maintaining inventory, and ensuring compliance with Fire Department Regulation 4 requirements.

REQUIREMENTS/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Two years of full-time paid experience in mechanical repair work in a class at the level of Mechanical Repairer.

One (1) Position, 9/80 Schedule, Day Shift

Candidate must possess and maintain a valid CA Driver’s License and must be able to operate a City vehicle during the course of employment. An active LAWA Security Badge is required at all times.

Emergency Appointment

An emergency appointment is not a regular appointment. It is a temporary appointment which does not require that you successfully compete in the Civil Service examination process. The appointment may not exceed one year and must be terminated immediately when a regular appointment can be made from an eligible list. No emergency appointment can exceed one year. (City Charter Section 1013).
