A Financial Services Manager position is available with the City of Fort Worth Financial Management Services Accounting Division. The Financial Services Manager will: Manage day to day operations of the Grants accounting team and production of the City’s Single Audit Report; Manage day to day operations of the Quality Assurance accounting team, including Mayor & Council Communication reviews, departmental budget development, PID, TIF and Legacy Fund accounting, and invoice and P-Card reviews; Ensure work is performed in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, Federal and State laws, Federal and State Codes of Regulations, and City policy; and Evaluate each teams’ performance and provide timely feedback. The position will supervise three direct reports in addition to six indirect reports.
Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in public administration, business administration, economics, accounting, or a closely related field
- Five (5) years responsible experience in fiscal services or a closely related field
- Four (4) years of administrative and supervisory experience
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with management of external audit deliverables
- Grant management in compliance with federal, state and local regulations
- Budget development
The Financial Services Manager job responsibilities include: - Assist with the development of the City's annual financial report and coordination of the City's annual single audit.
- Prepare or assist in preparing a variety of complex reports involving statistics, legal requirements, fund accounting, data processing, and financial projections, including informal reports, administrative regulations, memoranda, and Mayor and Council Communications.
- Participate in the development, analysis, formulation and administration of the department's budget; approve the forecast of funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials and supplies; approve expenditures and implement budgetary adjustments as appropriate and necessary
- Conduct presentations at Council and department head meetings regarding financial aspects of projects and for senior management to assure appropriate and timely actions are taken
- Research, recommend, write, implement, and administer policies and procedures relative to assigned departmental functions or projects
- Represent the FMS department to other departments, elected officials and outside agencies
- Prepare and present staff reports and other necessary correspondence
