The City of Waco Seeks
Animal Services Techs who will help clean and maintain the shelter facilities and assist in showing adoptable animals to the public. If you have a heart for helping animals by watering, feeding, grooming, and monitoring for illness and disease, please apply now!
Minimum Qualifications
Preferred:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Some animal care experience
- Driver's License
Under basic supervision, provides care for animals in the City animal shelter.
Essential Functions
- Cleans and maintains Animal Shelter facilities and grounds daily, including feeding, watering, and grooming animals; monitors animals for illness and disease and provides medications.
- Receives animals brought to the shelter. Performs initial exams and maintains records using the shelter software.
- Provides customer assistance; maintains and updates files and assists with reports and computer entry.
- May be required to respond after hours, including holidays and weekends, in the event of a departmental or City-wide emergency.
