At our Missouri Veterans Home, our state’s heroes depend on the accounting team to keep their Home running smoothly. We need an Accounts Assistant who is “Always on Mission” to serve our Veterans. Salary: $38,242.56

Examples of Work

• Verify accuracy of invoices, deposits, withdrawals, and checks and document in Excel
• Provide information regarding financial options and responsibilities when Veterans move into the Home
• Manage Veteran trust accounts, financial records, and petty cash
• Communicate with family members, staff, and vendors about the Veteran’s financial matters
• Receive and reconcile the cash box from dietary and other departments
• Operate Home’s office equipment and accurately input data into its software programs
• Copy checks and receipts for processing deposits and take to the bank
• Maintain high level of trust and accountability with the Home’s and Veterans’ finances

Qualifications

1 - 3 years of experience in accounting, finance, business administration, or other relevant field that would provide:

• Knowledge of accounting procedures and practices
• Knowledge of basic research methods related to financial transactions
• Ability to identify and resolve transactional issues
• Ability to maintain automated and manual financial records
