Position DescriptionThis position is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the clinic patient flow and serving as the primary contact for patients. Responsible for scheduling appointments, preparing necessary paperwork before the patient visits, receiving patients, and maintaining records. In addition, this position is responsible for processing charges for clinic services, filing insurance claims, responding to requests for information from patients and insurance companies and maintaining related information for the department. Employees may have cash-handling responsibilities.
Major/Essential Functions- Receives all incoming calls, messages, and faxes for the clinic and distributes them to the appropriate staff.
- Schedules new and established patients based upon clinic protocols.
- Greets patients at check-in and checkout; assists patients with forms and with questions on their accounts, may make appropriate notations on fee sheets.
- Contacts patients who have missed appointments.
- Schedules new and established patients based upon clinic protocols.
- Verifies and updates billing/insurance and demographic information, making corrections as necessary.
- May receive payments for services and prepare end-of-day deposit.
- May perform other duties as assigned

Required QualificationsA High School diploma or GED. 1-year Customer Service, office, or related experience. Additional education may substitute for the experience requirement.
