This position qualifies for the following incentives which is separate from the base pay: Sign-On Incentive of: $5,400
***50% paid after the completion of first pay period, 50% paid after the completion of 6 months of employment. ***
Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in civil engineering or a related field.
- Four (4) years of increasingly responsible civil engineering experience, including two (2) years in the assigned area of responsibility.
- Possession of registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Texas. If licensed in another state, continued employment will be contingent upon obtaining registration as a Professional Engineer within the State of Texas within six (6) months of employment.
- Valid Driver’s License.
Preferred Qualifications: - Project Management experience
- Experience with Bluebeam, Accela or BIM 360 or other similar project management software
- Municipal Government experience.
The Professional Engineer job responsibilities include: - Oversees the review of public infrastructure plans related to private development, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and city standards. Provides developers and their engineers with clear guidance on necessary design comments or concerns.
- Supervises and coordinates all project activities and resources for the design and construction of public infrastructure related to private development.
- Ensures efficient and timely communication, coordination, and processing of the IPRC Plan Review Processes to ensure successful outcomes.
- Utilizes strong communication and customer service skills to serve as a key point of contact for a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, including staff, customers, City teams, developers, consultants, contractors, and state/federal agencies (e.g., TxDOT, Railroad Companies). Facilitates coordination among these groups through telephone, email, Microsoft Teams, WebEx or in-person communication.
- Proactively monitors and assesses the quality, responsiveness, efficiency, and effectiveness of the development review process through established performance metrics.
- Contributes to the development and implementation of policies, procedures, goals, and objectives. Monitors work activities and recommends improvements to existing standards and procedures.

Working Conditions Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking, repetitive motions, climbing and balancing.
Physical Demand Light Work - Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly having to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for the Sedentary Work category and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated Light Work.
