A Leave Coordinator job is available with the City of Fort Worth in the Human Resources Department, Leave Administration Division. The Leave Administration division of HR manages employee leave programs, including medical, family, military, and other types of leave, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and organizational policies. The Leave Coordinator is the liaison between employees, departments, health care providers, and the Third-Party Vendor to coordinate leaves, workplace accommodation requests, track usage, and support return-to-work processes.
Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in human resources management, public administration, business administration or a related field.
- Three (3) years of increasingly responsible experience in leave administration, Workers’ Compensation or employee relations.
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience in a public sector or large-scale organization.
- HR certifications such as SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP, PHR/SPHR, or ADA Coordinator Training Certification.
- Experience interpreting and applying complex federal, state, and local employment laws.
The Leave Coordinator job responsibilities include: - Serve as the City's internal subject matter expert (SME) for leave of absence, FMLA, ADA, and ADA Workplace Accommodations ensuring consistent application of City policies and adherence to applicable laws and regulations.
- Oversee and resolve complex and escalated leave of absence and accommodation matters, partnering with internal departments and third-party vendors.
- Collaborate with external vendors to monitor service levels, address issues, and enhance employee experiences related to leave and accommodations.
- Evaluate, monitor, and recommend workflow enhancements for leave-related processes and ADA case handling to promote efficiency and compliance.
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to resolve data and file maintenance issues related to leave status changes and updates.
- Review and recommend updates to leave policies and procedures, ensuring they remain legally compliant, relevant, and clearly communicated.
- Design, develop, and deliver training and educational presentations for employees, supervisors, HR personnel, and medical records custodians on leave and ADA topics.
- Analyze and track leave utilization trends to provide actionable metrics and strategic reports for senior leadership.
