In this position you will gain a better understanding of the responsibilities and many roles that Human Resources plays within the Department of Health and Senior Services.
- Main point of contact and for Office of Human Resources
- Completing and creating projects/documents as assigned; Assisting with HR Director & HR Manager’s email, monitoring meetings, projects, requests and deadlines and sending reminders to managers to ensure timeframes are met.
- Main support staff to the multi-divisional Policy Review Committee.
- Work with all Divisions and OHR staff to ensure all questions related to OHR are answered.
- Performs fixed asset management functions, including tracking physical inventory and obtaining and disposing (surplus) of inventory
- Expense reports for OHR
- Answer calls and provide general information to our employees
- Maintain employee personnel files
- Maintain the Human Resources e-mail inbox
- Update and audit databases and spreadsheets
- Complete Public Service Loan Forgiveness forms
- Complete and send out Service Awards
- Assist employees with the Employee Self-Service Portal
- Process Tuition Reimbursement requests
- Maintain Local Security Officer duties
- Keep annual posters up-to-date
- Point of contact for Blood Drive Coordination
- Make updates to e-mail and functional listings
- Other duties as assigned to assist staff with various HR project
Minimum Qualifications: - 1-3 years of relevant experience
- Ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality
- Adept at proofreading and business writing
- Possess good oral and written communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to multitask with ease
- Maintain a high level of accuracy and compliance
