Loveland Fire Rescue Authority (LFRA) is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Accounting Technician to support our financial operations. The ideal candidate is organized, accurate, and committed to upholding fiscal integrity in a public service environment.

Salary Information: The salary range for this position is $22.69 - $31.81 per hour with an anticipated
hiring range of $24.50 - $27.25 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
Specifically, this position: - Administers the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including:
- Maintaining vendor/payor records
- Reviewing invoices & verifying documents
- Researching discrepancies
- Allocating funds to appropriate accounts and recording financial information in accounting systems
- Provides and monitors financial data for grants, including preparing requests for reimbursement and responding to grant monitoring or audit requests.
- Ensures all purchasing card transactions are proposed by the cardholder and routed for approval in a timely manner.
- Reviews, verifies, and processes travel reimbursement and per diem requests from Authority members, verifying calculations and documentation.
- Identifies and reconciles routine discrepancies between records and accounting systems, compiles supporting documentation, and creates record of corrective action.
- Assists Finance Manager in development and preparation of reports, spreadsheets, and related documents for presentation to the Fire Chief, Authority Board, City Council, and the public.
- Monitors capital asset inventory and reconciliation analysis; identifies and coordinates activities to maximize efficiency.
The Accounting Technician must have: - Knowledge of basic financial, accounting, and numeric calculations
- Solid working knowledge of accounting principles and practices
- The ability to analyze financial data, identify discrepancies, and implement corrective actions
- Intermediate skill level using Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Excel
- The ability to perform duties independently without close supervision; independently resolves problems
- The ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information
- Advanced attention to detail skills, with the capability to prioritize and meet deadlines
Education: - High school diploma or equivalent
- Equivalent to an Associate degree in a closely related field preferred
Experience: Three (3) years of combined experience in bookkeeping, accounts payable/receivable processing, and/or general accounting procedures.
Licenses/Certifications: NIMS 100, 700 within 6 months of hire date
