Police Asset Management Specialist job is available with the City of Fort Worth Police Department.
Minimum Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance and
- Two (2) years of experience managing physical inventory of property and equipment assets.
For jobs that require additional screens include under minimum qualifications: - Must pass CJIS, Drug Screen, Physical, Tuberculosis screening.
Preferred Qualifications: - Five years of experience managing physical inventory of property and equipment assets.
- Property and equipment management, compliance through the entire property lifecycle from acquisition to disposition of managed assets.
- Property and equipment research, audit preparation and asset analysis by creating reviewing and correcting asset records.
- Familiar with military quarter master system and implementation.
The Police Asset Management job responsibilities include: - Assumes full management responsibility for all assigned department assets and activities including program and operational functions; recommends and administers policies and procedures.
- Establishes within city policy; appropriate services and staffing levels; monitors and evaluates the efficiency and effectiveness of services offered by Asset Management Department; allocates resources accordingly.
- Continuously monitors and evaluates the quality, responsiveness, efficiency and effectiveness of internal standard operating processes; works with subordinate employees on the continuous improvement of programs and services.
- Assesses and monitors work load, administrative and support systems, and internal reporting relationships; identifies opportunities for improvement; directs and implements changes.
- Supervises the maintaining and processing of warehouse inventory, receives, track and issues assets, coordinates the disposition of unserviceable assets and facilitates the receiving of all deliveries for the department.
- Selects, trains, motivates and evaluates assigned personnel; provides or coordinates employee training; works with subordinate employees to correct deficiencies; implements discipline and termination procedures.
- Oversees and participates in the development and administration of the department budget; monitors expenditures and revenues; directs all related procurement and inventory systems.
- Effectively communicate with all levels of staff including internal, external, sworn and civilian.

Working Conditions Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking and repetitive motions.
Applicants for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility. Due to CJIS requirements related to system access, the following will result in being disqualified for this position: Felony Convictions, Felony Deferred Adjudication, Class A Misdemeanor Conviction, Class B Misdemeanor Convictions in the last 10 years, Class A Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication, Class B Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication in the last 10 years, an Open Arrest for Any Criminal Offense (Felony or Misdemeanor), and ALL Family Violence Convictions regardless of class.
Applicants must not have used marijuana during the previous two (2) years, nor illegally used any controlled substances within the last five (5) years. Physical Demands Medium work - Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly having to move objects.
