Pay Range: $26.38 - $34.30/hr

Workdays & Hours: Monday - Friday; Some weekend work required.

A Assistant Field Operations Supervisor - Golf job is available with the City of Fort Worth Park and Recreation Department at Pecan Valley Golf Course. Pecan Valley is in Southwest Fort Worth and consists of two 18-hole golf courses and a driving range. The successful candidate for this position will be under the direct supervision of the Golf Course Superintendent and will be responsible for assisting with supervising the maintenance staff.
Minimum Qualifications: - High School Diploma/GED
- Three (3) years of responsible experience in golf course maintenance or construction.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Possession of or the ability to obtain within 6 months a Pesticide Applicator’s license.
Preferred Qualifications: - Associate’s degree in Horticulture or turf-grass maintenance or higher.
- Working knowledge and understanding of golf course construction principles, practices and methods, in addition to a comprehensive understanding of the rules of golf from an agronomic standpoint as well as player.
- Experience troubleshooting & repairing hydraulic irrigation controllers and working with ultra-dwarf Bermuda grasses. As well as prior experience and supervision of greens aerification process.
- Understanding or familiarity of Toro Lynx irrigation software or the ability to learn; detailed oriented and forward thinking.
- A high degree of administrative ability and must be able to use Microsoft Word and Excel, while having the ability to provide excellent oral and written communication skills.
The Golf Assistant Field Operations Supervisor job responsibilities include: - Coordinating daily work assignments, various projects, and normal agronomical cultural practices.
- Daily preparation of the course for regular tournament play.
- Communication with pro shop staff regarding course conditions.
- Accurate record keeping of all chemical applications.
- Ordering maintenance products as required and working weekends and holidays as assigned.
Working Conditions: Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, walking, repetitive motions, climbing, balancing, pushing, pulling and lifting; depending on
assignment. Incumbents may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, odors, dusts, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, intense noises, gases, vibrations, chemicals, oils and workspace restrictions.
Physical Demands Medium work - Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly having to move objects.
