Position Overview

The City of Henderson announces an examination to create an eligibility list and to fill one (1) vacancy for the classification of Public Response Manager in the Department of Community Development and Services. The eligibility list may be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification for up to one (1) year.

Under general supervision, oversees and participates in the daily operations of the department’s public response functions, including the areas of code enforcement, housing and habitability inspections, short-term vacation rental programs, park rules enforcement, and zoning enforcement; performs related duties as assigned.

This candidate will have extensive experience supervising a code compliance unit, including a deep understanding of municipal codes, enforcement strategies, and case management systems. Success in this role requires experience working with collectively bargained employees and a solid grasp of public union contracts, including performance management, labor relations, and collaborative problem-solving. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker who embraces innovation and continuous improvement while maintaining high standards of accountability, efficiency, and service delivery.

Minimum Qualifications


NOTE: For this recruitment ONLY, candidates that currently do not possess their Certified Code Enforcement Administrator from the American Association of Code Enforcement (AACE) and/or International Code Council (ICC) must obtain this certification within 12 months of appointment. For this to apply, candidates must possess a c urrent designation as a Certified Code Enforcement Officer at time of application.
