We are recruiting to fill a Computer Information Technologist I position to perform entry-level professional and technical work in computer systems analysis, design, programming and/or the administration of a mainframe, midrange or microcomputer environment. An employee in this class is responsible for assisting in the analysis, design, programming, administration, and configuration of computer hardware and/or software of limited complexity in a mainframe, midrange and/or microcomputer environment. Work may be in support of areas such as applications, Internet, operating systems, database and network administration. Duties may include providing customer support or assistance with more complex work and/or troubleshooting basic hardware and/or software problems.

General Duties:

Provide professional and technical work in the Information Technology Department which will include the following: works with computer systems for installation, configuration, problem definition and resolution. This position is responsible for the set up, maintenance and training of 'For The Record' computers; and set up and support of audio visual equipment throughout the facility. In addition, this position provides hardware and software support to court personnel; maintains and upgrades personal computers, and printers; instructs users in the use of common software, including operating systems (e.g. Windows10, Windows11, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Access); installs and configures personal computer peripherals, install approved software as required; serve as contact person for various outside help desks; and perform other duties as assigned. (Applicants must work well with general supervision.)



Minimum Qualifications:

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with at least fifteen (15) semester hours in computer science, computer information systems or closely related areas. (Computer information technology systems experience such as computer programming, systems analysis and design or work with primary responsibility for the configuration of computer hardware and software in a mainframe, midrange and/or microcomputer environment may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for deficiencies in the stated education.)

OR

One year as a Computer Information Technologist Trainee.
