The position will be responsible for working in the discipline area of the board that includes monitoring licensees with disciplinary actions, use of nursing knowledge to review investigative reports and assist legal staff with nursing practice questions. Candidates must have good, effective communication skills, be self-motivated with the ability to multi-task, make routine decisions, organize workflow and establish priorities and deadlines.
• Administer and evaluate a discipline monitoring system for the Board of Nursing.
• Ensure all board decisions related to complaints and discipline are processed through the Board’s computerized tracking system and Nursys.
• Prepare and present expert testimony and evidence during legal hearings.
• Review, analyze and present investigative reports to the Board.
• Participate in planning/conducting consumer protection committee meetings.
• Participate in planning, preparing and conducting orientation sessions and meetings related to nursing compliance.
• Track, evaluate, analyze and report quarterly and annual data metric regarding discipline and impaired and intervention programs.
• Communicate with licensees and employers of licensees regarding probation requirements.
• Perform other related work as assigned.
What we are looking for: Minimum Qualifications • Baccalaureate degree or higher in Nursing from an accredited college or university; with a minimum of 5 years professional experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Must possess a current Missouri Registered Nurse license at time of hire.
• Must have ability to travel, at times overnight.
