Description
IntroductionPerforms skilled level work in the installation, maintenance, operation, and repair of Intelligent Transportation Systems signal equipment; modifies existing ITS signal equipment to improve operations; designs and builds test equipment.
Anticipated starting salary for this position may be up to mid-point depending on candidate’s experience and internal equity. The full salary range is listed above and mid-point for this position is $36.62/hour. **This recruitment is only open to current City of Scottsdale employees** Minimum QualificationsMinimum Qualifications
Education and Experience:- A high school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalent is required.
- Preferred: Associate's Degree in electronic technology or electronic technician diploma.
- Five years' experience as a traffic signal technician or experience in electronics maintaining, testing or repairing microprocessor-based instruments, TS1 and TS2 controller cabinets, optical pre-empt devices, and telemetry equipment or experience in traffic signal maintenance in a related capacity.
Licensing, Certifications and Other Requirements:- Must possess and maintain a valid, unrestricted Arizona driver's license with no major citations within the past 39 months prior to the start date.
- Must possess a Class "A" Commercial Driver License (CDL) with no air brake restriction.
- Individual of this classification will be subject to unannounced alcohol and drug testing as required by law.
- Every person employed by the City of Scottsdale shall reside in the State of Arizona during his or her active employment by the City, regardless of whether the employee is approved to remote work.
- Preferred:
- American Traffic Safety Services Association (ATSSA) Traffic Control Technician Certification or International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA) Work Zone Temporary Traffic Control Technician Certification.
- International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA) Traffic Signal Field Technician Level II Certification.
- International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA) Traffic Signal Bench Technician Level II Certification.
Other pertinent licenses and/or certifications may be required of some positions depending on department/section assignment.
