The Urban Design Division in the City of Austin’s Planning Department is looking for a fall intern to assist with the update to the Great Streets Plan and Standards. The focus of this role will be to assist with the community engagement portion of the update and to assist with the creation of the updated Great Streets Plan and Standards. The community engagement portion of the update includes, but is not limited to, creating advertisement and meeting materials, updating the website and assisting with an open house. The intern will also assist with the creation of cross sections and renderings for the update. In addition, this role will assist with Great Streets site plan reviews.

Telework opportunities may be available after an initial training period. Telework, if approved, can be up to three days a week. Hybrid schedules are subject to change to meet the business needs of the department.

This internship is 40 hours a week and will end December 31, 2025. This position may require you to work occasionally in the evening and weekend hours.
