The City of Waco Seeks:
The City of Waco is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Traffic Signs & Markings Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in traffic sign and marking work, a strong understanding of safety protocols, and the ability to work efficiently in a team environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
Required:
- HS Diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Texas Class A Commercial Driver’s License with Tanker Endorsement.
Position Description:
Installs and maintains traffic control signs and markings on City streets and Department locations.
Essential Functions:
- Delivers and picks up road closure signs and devices; assists with setting up closures.
- Installs, repairs and replaces street signs according to assigned work orders.
- Places and burns thermoplastic for street markings; operates water truck and striping truck to paint street lines.
- Operates lift truck for installing overhead signs.
- May assist in fabricating signs.
- May be required to respond afterhours, including holidays and weekends, in the event of a departmental or City-wide emergency.
