SummaryMinimum Starting Salary: $19.6372 per hour
The City of Waco Seeks:
The City of Waco is seeking a skilled and motived Traffic Signal Technician to join our team and contribute to the maintenance, installation, and repair of traffic signal systems.
Minimum Qualifications;
Required:
- HS Diploma or GED equivalent
- One year of general electrical work experience.
- Valid Texas Class A Commercial Driver’s License within 180 days.
- International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA) Traffic Signal Technician certification within 2 years.
- Additional technical training and certifications may be required.
Position Description:
Under basic supervision, installs and maintains traffic control signals on City streets.
Essential Functions:
- Installs, repairs, and replaces traffic signals according to assigned work orders; tests and cleans systems and components; and replaces wiring, fuses, bulbs, and other parts.
- Inspects and maintains traffic signal hardware and electric and electronic controllers; check schematics and diagrams and performs preventive maintenance.
- May be required to be on-call, respond afterhours, including holidays and weekends, in the event of a departmental or City-wide emergency.
