ABOUT THE POSITION

The Clark County Department of Social Services is currently recruiting for the position of Departmental Systems Technician. As a member of our team, you will assist with equipment deployment, maintain department software, prepare training documentation for software updates, and provide software/hardware training to users. In this role, you will assist in bridging business problems with technological solutions.

The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal and communication skills as they will collaborate closely with stakeholders to problem solve and drive process improvement within the organization.

This examination will establish an Open Competitive Eligibility list to fill current and/or future vacancies that may occur within the next six (6) months or may be extended as needed by Human Resources.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience: Equivalent to completion of two years of college level course work with major course work in computer science, management information systems, or a closely related field and two (2) years of full-time experience in personal or mini-computer hardware and software usage and/or development in a departmental environment. Additional experience as outlined above may be substituted for the education on a year-for-year basis.

Licensing and Certification: Specified positions may require a valid Nevada Class C Driver's License at time of appointment depending upon the department assigned and how many different work sites for which the individual has responsibility.

Background Investigation: Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation. Periodically after employment background investigations may be conducted.

Citizenship: Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Please note, Clark County does not provide H1B visa sponsorships or transfers for any employment positions.

Pre-Employment Drug Testing: Employment is contingent upon the results of a pre-employment drug examination.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Mobility to work in a typical office setting and use standard office equipment, stamina to remain seated and maintain concentration for an extended period of time, vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the telephone.
