Essential Job Functions

A Senior Real Property Agent is responsible for performing a combination of the following essential job functions:

Requirement to Qualify:

Option I: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree, which also includes real estate courses totaling 15 semester units* AND three years of experience at the level of Real Property Agent II**in either of the following: appraising, acquiring, selling, leasing, or managing real property, of which two years must have involved commercial or industrial property OR facilities project design, development, or space management

OPTION II: Two years' experience performing real property analysis, appraisal, sale, lease, relocation or concession and franchise negotiation for public use as a Real Property Agent II** within the County of Los Angeles.

PHYSICAL CLASS: Physical Class II - Light: This class includes administrative and clerical positions requiring light physical effort that may include occasional light lifting to a 10-pound limit and some bending, stooping, or squatting. Considerable ambulation may be involved.

LICENSE: A valid California Class C Driver License or the ability to utilize an alternative method of transportation when needed to carry out job-related essential functions.

Once we have identified that you meet the requirements, an invitation regarding the following assessment processes will be sent:

EXAMINATION CONTENT:

This examination will consist of TWO (2) parts:

Part I: A multiple choice and/or simulation assessment(s), weighted 50%, assessing:


Part II: An evaluation of Training and Experience, weighted 50%, assessing:


Applicants must meet the requirements and achieve 70% or higher on the combined score of Parts I and II in order to be placed on the eligible list.

ELIGIBILITY INFORMATION:

The names of candidates receiving a passing grade in the examination will be placed on the eligible list in the order of their score group for a period of Twelve (12) months following the date of promulgation.

VACANCY INFORMATION:
The list of successful candidates created from this exam will be used to fill vacancies throughout the Department of Public Works as they occur.
