The Department of Public Health is inviting candidates to apply for the position of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Analyst II*. Under general supervision, this role will leverage GIS technology to optimize business processes and enhance the delivery of public health services. The successful candidate will be integral to the planning, organization, coordination, and implementation of the department's GIS infrastructure and its related applications.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT


Pre-Employment Process: Applicants must successfully pass a background check and a job-related physical exam, including a drug test, prior to employment.

Travel: Travel throughout the County may be required and employees will be required to make provisions for such transportation.
Visa Sponsorship: Please note San Bernardino County is not able to consider candidates who will require visa sponsorship at the time of application or in the future.

Minimum Requirements

Experience: Two (2) years of experience performing GIS mapping and analysis, and one (1) year managing GIS related projects. Experience may be concurrent.

-AND-

Education: Thirty (30) semester (45 quarter) units of completed college coursework in information technology, business administration, GIS or a closely related field. If no Bachelor's degree in a qualifying field is held, a list of completed coursework is required.

Substitution : One (1) year of additional qualifying experience may substitute for thirty (30) semester (45 quarter) units of education.
