Description

Join a 7-person financial team that provides accounting, budget, procurement, and general services functions for Missouri’s Department of Economic Development (DED). You will serve as an integral part of DED by providing financial services for the department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and more! You’ll also help DED achieve our mission of helping create greater opportunities for Missourians to prosper as well as be a good steward of state and federal dollars .

• Responsible for a substantial amount of accounts payable data entry into the State’s Financial System (SAMII) and the ARPA portal, which includes assigning cost allocations and distributions for payment of invoices and reconciling and auditing financial data in the system

• Responsible for data entry of accounts receivable documents in SAMII

• Assist with the compilation and preparation of monthly financial reports and ensure accuracy in a timely manner

• Assist with ordering office supplies and other items as needed, which includes responsibility for maintaining a state purchasing card

• Responsible for reviewing and verifying compliance of invoices, grants payments, expense reports, and out of state travel requests from various divisions within the Department

• Responsible for following departmental travel policies and assist with compliance auditing to ensure accordance with state and department policies and procedures

• Communicate with staff and vendors, via email or telephone, regarding invoices, etc., ensuring all communications are conducted in a professional manner

• Filing of financial documentation as needed

• Perform other related duties as assigned

• At least three years of relevant experience. This can be obtained through a combination of work experience in accounting and post-secondary education

o Lack of post-secondary education will not be used as the sole basis for denying consideration to any applicant

• Efficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel spreadsheet applications

• Working knowledge of office methods and procedures

• Considerable knowledge of accounting principles and practices, as well as the Office of Administration’s procured policies and procedures

• Considerable knowledge of SAMII and MOBIUS

• Knowledge of Missouri Vital Enterprise Resource System (MOVERS)

• Knowledge of MissouriBUYS

• Proficient use of a calculator

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships

• Ability to demonstrate regular and reliable attendance
