An
Administrative Technician job is available with the City of Fort Worth Police Department / Traffic Division. This position will contribute to the City’s strategic goals, mission and vision by providing clerical and administrative support to the Traffic Division Captain including performing a variety of routine fiscal and administrative tasks for staff and management personnel in assigned area of responsibility.
Minimum Qualifications: - Associate's degree in Business, Business Administration, Finance, Public Administration, Office Administration or a related field.
- Two (2) years of clerical and administrative experience.
- Must pass Drug Screen and CJIS.
Preferred Qualifications: - Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel), PeopleSoft (ERP) and Adobe Acrobat Sign.
- Experience with sworn civil service.
- Extensive telephone and public contact customer service skills.
- Bilingual skills (English/Spanish).
The Administrative Technician job responsibilities include: - Provides administrative assistance to staff by preparing documents. Processes travel documents, employee travel reimbursement requests and conference registrations.
- Provides administrative support by verifying costs for various budget items, gathering data, and entering data into City systems. Ensuring financial/budget practices adherence to department guidelines.
- Process requisitions and purchase materials and supplies to maintain inventory
- Document overtime for major events (e.g., 211').
- Reconcile P-Cards and review for compliance.
- Receive invoices and ensure accurate processing for payment.
- Create spenddowns for the fiscal year and track expenditures.

Due to CJIS requirements related to system access, the following will result in being disqualified for this position: Felony Convictions, Felony Deferred Adjudication, Class A Misdemeanor Conviction, Class B Misdemeanor Convictions in the last 10 years, Class A Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication, Class B Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication in the last 10 years, an Open Arrest for Any Criminal Offense (Felony or Misdemeanor), and ALL Family Violence Conviction
Working Conditions Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking and repetitive motions.
