Pay Range: $24.67 - $30.83/hr.
Job Posting Closing on: Wednesday, April 16, 2025 Workdays & Hours: Monday - Thursday 7am - 5:30pm; Some evening/weekend work required.
Candidates must have flexible working hours; capable of working four (4) ten-hour shifts. This position is a first responder in severe weather conditions/emergencies which will be subject to work after hours, emergency call back hours, nights, weekends, holidays and will participate in an on-call rotation schedule.

A Field Operations Crewleader job is available with the City of Fort Worth Transportation and Public Works/Street Operations Division. The candidate selected for this position will work in the Southwest Asphalt Sector supervising crews. The Southwest Asphalt Sector performs permanent asphalt repairs, surface restoration, as well as performs maintenance and/or repairs. The Southwest Asphalt Sector responsible for maintaining 2,465 lane miles of streets.
Minimum Qualifications: - High School Diploma/GED
- Two (2) years of responsible experience in field construction, maintenance, repair or operational activities related to assigned division
- Class A CDL
- Must pass Drug Screen, and Physical
Preferred Qualifications: - Knowledge of the Texas Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices
- Work zone safety
- Additional construction repair and maintenance experience
- Experience with saws, compressor, generator, various hand tools, skid steer, excavator and tools or equipment related to Street Maintenance
- Basic computer skills, i.e. Microsoft Office
The Field Operations Crewleader job responsibilities include: - Provide direction and job assignments to work crews and assist in scheduling construction, maintenance, and repair services in addition to overseeing work progression and making adjustments as needed
- Identifies resources needed. Reviews needs with appropriate management staff and allocates resources accordingly.
- Performs technical and complex tasks of the work unit including inspecting field operations equipment and recommending needed repairs
- Responsible for monitoring the quality, responsiveness, efficiency and effectiveness regarding general field operations to include construction, maintenance and repair
- Prioritize scheduled and emergency work including after hours on-call
- Ensure compliance of policies and procedures
- Equipment operations and manual labor duties as they relate to maintenance operations.
- Maintain paperwork, respond to high priority calls and providing training and instruction to other personnel
- Adheres to assigned work schedule, 4 - ten hour shifts; Overtime or compensatory time may be required to assist with emergencies or maintenance needs and work in diverse weather conditions.

Physical Demand Heavy Work - Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly having to move objects.
